Unlike other healthcare training programs, Medstar Academy is driven by a desire to see our students get trained for a good career, at a price they can afford.
The Caregiver program at Medstar Academy offers students preparation for exams, certification for work, and overall competency in order to meet State standards. With this field growing rapidly in the next 10 years, Medstar Academy continues to pursue curriculum that will benefit caregivers as the healthcare industry’s needs continue to change.
Medstar Academy’s Caregiver program includes over 100 active learning hours in subjects like food preparation, infection control, legal & ethical rights of the patient, and environment management. Like all of Medstar Academy’s healthcare training programs, the Caregiver program is designed to make the transition from school to the working field as easy as possible. With an emphasis on Assisted Living Facility Caregiver jobs, Medstar Academy centers its program on the Arizona Board of Examiners of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Facility Managers – an accredited state certification program.
Medstar Academy’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program emphasizes student preparation in knowledge and skills. What knowledge and skills? The kind that employers and patients are looking for. Knowledge and skills necessary to meet long-term care facility demands. Medstar Academy hopes to improve industry standards with its healthcare training programs. The Nursing Assistant program is at the forefront of that goal. Medstar Academy aims to achieve this by increasing and expanding patient care and worker satisfaction by continuing to pursue clinical training at accredited and licensed healthcare facilities.
The Certified Nursing Assistant program at Medstar Academy includes 120 hours of study in subjects such as infection control, disease processes, data collection, older adult growth, development, mental health, and more. At Medstar Academy, students are prepared for the Arizona State Board of Nursing exam to receive a Certified Nurse Assistant license in the State of Arizona.
