Eleven Week Phlebotomy Technician Program
The Phlebotomy Technician Training program prepares students to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Testing exam and receive national certification in Phlebotomy.

Payment Options for Cash/Credit Paying Students :
Payment Plan — Pay registration fee of $200 upfront at the time of enrollment and then make either three biweekly payments or four biweekly payments. You may also put the entire program cost on a credit card. This will allow you to pay for your classes over an extended period of time.
All payments must be completed prior to the student being scheduled for clinicals.
Phlebotomy Technician Training Program Admission Requirements (Required Prior to Class Start Date)
- Pass admissions test
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Provide proof of Citizenship — Arizona State ID, Arizona Drivers License or US Passport
- Social Security card
- Pass a 5 Panel drug test
- Medical clearance
Phlebotomy Technician Training Program Completion Requirements (Required by the Last Day of Class)
- CPR Pro and First Aid certification
- Immune Status Panel — MMR Titers (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella-Zoster virus IgG antibodies
- Hepatitis B vaccination
- DPS fingerprint card
- TB test or chest x-ray (within last 6 months)
- Minimum number of successful sticks completed
- Satisfy any other requirements of training facility
- No outstanding payments
- Completed enrollment forms (externship site disclosure, release of liability, blood draw consent form, attendance sheets, class lab tracker and externship lab tracker)
- Copy of certificate of completion
Phlebotomy Technician Training Program Hours
The Phlebotomy Technician training program works to fulfill two student-centered aims. First, to prepare students for employment as a Phlebotomy Technician, and second, to qualify the students to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Testing exam. The exam is a national certification exam for phlebotomy technicians. Medstar Academy offers 40 learning hours to practice the necessary skills.
Fast Track Phlebotomy Technician Program
The Fast Track Phlebotomy program is a 4 week long, 2 days a week class with an emphasis on preparing students for employment as Phlebotomy Technicians and successfully passing the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Testing exam. You will learn all the fundamentals of Phlebotomy with hands-on experience. During this time you will be able to successfully complete 30 needlesticks (or more) and 10 capillary sticks — which are required to take your NHA exam.
